[Added More Carriers] Samsung Galaxy S23 receiving September 2023 security update in the USA
Samsung has started rolling out the latest September 2023 security patch to its flagship device, the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra. The company doesn’t follow any specific pattern to expand the security patch to its smartphones, so earlier it brought the update to the Galaxy S22 series.

Samsung is expanding the latest September 2023 security patch update for the Galaxy S23 Series in the United States to more carrier-locked devices. Now the update is also available for Xfinity Mobile, Comcast, and Spectrum Mobile units with S91*USQS1AWHD build number.

Notably, the September 2023 security update is currently rolling out for the carrier-locked variant of the Galaxy S23 on the Verizon and US Cellular networks. For identification, you can verify it by the new firmware version number, S91*USQS1AWHD( the *-mark represents different models of the devices). It is expected that the update will soon be available on more networks.
The latest update only brings the new September 2023 patch. The main aim of the update is to provide fixes for the betterment of the security of the devices. Apart from this, the update may also bring some more enhancements for the internal functions. However, Samsung didn’t reveal anything in the official changelog, which indicates there were no important changes made.
For your information, the September 2023 update fixes more than 60 security vulnerabilities. Of these, Google has brought 27 fixes for the Android OS, while Samsung has also added 35 more fixes exclusively for the Galaxy devices.

The One UI 6.1 update for this device hasn’t brought a new security patch and still uses the April 2024 patch level. The update is available on each network for locked variants and is expected to reach the unlocked variant in the next few days.

The One UI 6.1 feature will provide several new changes for the Galaxy devices; however, the update will not bring any Galaxy AI features, but it will provide a bunch of new features that will elevate the user experience.
