Xiaomi Watch 2 Appears Similar To Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 But Only In Design

A new competitor in the smartwatch tech industry is appearing: Xiaomi has debuted its Watch 2. The company has announced its brand new Watch 2, but somehow, for Galaxy smartwatch owners, it is not pretty new since it resembles the Galaxy Watch series. But that doesn’t mean that it lacks its own specialties, such as features, specs, and more, out of which its battery capacity is the hot topic for now in the tech industry.
Xiaomi Watch 2 runs Wear OS and is the power package of many convenient features, but the fact is that from design and look’s perspective, it appears similar to the well-known Galaxy Watch family. The two buttons housed on the right side of the watch are quite the same in shape and size, whereas the band connectors have the same profile as those on the Galaxy Watch 6.

Apart from the Galaxy Watch, the next is the Pixel Watch, which runs stock Wear OS 4 and carries a lot of the same features. Although Xiaomi did release the Watch 2 Pro last year, it appears to be a more affordable option.
But the noticeable fact that can’t be denied is that the Xiaomi Watch 2 battery lasts at least up to 65 hours even on a single charge. The device operates on a Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 SoC manufactured on a 4nm process, coupled with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage for songs and other media content. The setup powers an arrangement of sensors that appears on many smartwatches, including an optical heart rate sensor.

Watch 2 also has the power to calculate stress levels. The brand itself claimed that the Xiaomi Watch 2 battery can last up to 65 hours on a single charge; on the other hand, the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro has 30 hours of battery life, which is far from 65 hours. The fact is, the Watch 2 seems like the Xiaomi without even any extra effort to get the special tricks, since the TicWatch Pro 5 does, along with two separate screen types.
The internal cell appears as a simple 495 mAh battery. However, 65 hours’ long-lasting battery is just claimed for now; let’s see what real-life usage results in. Xiaomi will price the base variant of the Watch 2 at €199.
