Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Could Bring Wider Outer Display With Sharper Square Edges

Published

on

Samsung is busily setting up to expand the Galaxy foldable series by debuting a sixth-generation foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which is expected to arrive with a wider outer display with sharper corners.

Fans are awaiting the forthcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 foldable phones, and leaks and rumors are increasing their curiosity among them. Now,  recent leaks have revealed that this time Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 6’s wider outer display could ditch rounded corners.

Usually, the Galaxy Z Fold series follows the same basic design language of a super narrow and tall outer display that unfolds into a large, almost square inner display. The size ratio has changed slightly over time, but the fact is that it’s thinner as compared to the rest of the foldables on the market.

Finally, it appears that Samsung could come up with a new design idea for the forthcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6.

A reliable tipster on is reporting that the external screen of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is 60.2mm, whereas its predecessor series, the Galaxy Z Fold 5,’s external display is 57.4mm. If this report comes, then you will get a wider external screen, which will surely enhance the experience, but not too wide.

The corners of the display also seem to be markedly sharper. This time, they are not rounded, as was the design in previous generations. Samsung is expected to debut the sixth-generation foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, and maybe the Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE, at the Galaxy Unpacked event, which is supposed to be held on July 10th in Paris.

iPhone 16 May Feature Samsung Camera Sensors

Undoubtedly, Samsung and Apple are rivals in the tech industry, but that’s not the case for now since Apple is considering using Samsung camera sensors for the iPhone 16.

Apple is actively setting up to debut its next-gen phone, the iPhone 16. If this report comes true, this will be the first time Apple has gone for Samsung’s camera sensor. Traditionally, Sony is the usual supplier of Apple, but for now, Apple is testing the Samsung sensors.

If the report from The Elec is to be believed, Apple will use a camera sensor from Samsung System LSI for the primary rear camera of the iPhone 16. The report says Apple decided to source camera sensors for the iPhone 16 from Samsung instead of Sony.

There are two key reasons behind this sudden change; for instance, the giant has recently acknowledged that sensors from the Japanese supplier have issues regarding reliability. The second fact behind this step is that Sony could not deliver the required camera sensors to Apple for the iPhone 15 on time, due to which Apple had issues setting a debut date for the phone.

Now, Apple asked the Korean giant to start developing sensors for the iPhone 16 last year. According to the report, the image sensor Samsung System LSI has developed for the iPhone 16 has a three-wafer stack. Each stack features a different element: photodiodes, transistors, and analog-to-digital converter logic.

Samsung Galaxy A16 battery makes existence on BIS certification

Apart from the high-end devices, Samsung is also looking forward to introducing a mid-range smartphone named the Galaxy A16. The report reveals the battery details of this upcoming smartphone that appeared online for BIS certification. Let’s take a closer look at the battery specs of the Galaxy A16.

Leaks and rumors started circulating about the features and specs of the forthcoming Galaxy A16 mid-range smartphone. Now the new report suggests that, for the first time, the Galaxy A16’s batteries have come into existence on BIS certification. The batteries were spotted with the mode numbers EB-BA166ASE and EB-BA166ASY.

This is being speculated on by the reports from 91Mobiles. These two variants probably belong to two battery suppliers for a reliable supply chain. It is reported that these batteries are for the 5G variant of the phone.

However, it has yet to be clear whether the giant will launch a 4G version of the device, as 5G chipsets are now more affordable. Noticeably, the battery size has not been revealed yet. Following the battery capacities of its predecessor devices, including the Galaxy A13 5G, the Galaxy A14 5G features a 5,000mAh battery. So it could be possible that the upcoming Galaxy A16 might have a 5,000 mAh battery.

On the other side, the Galaxy S25 batteries have also appeared on the same BIS certification, with the model numbers EB-BS938ABE and EB-BS938ABY probably arriving from two suppliers.

Galaxy S25 Ultra battery appeared on BIS certification

The Samsung Galaxy S25 series is the first in line to debut in early 2025. Right now, the battery that has been picked for the ultra variant of the series called the Galaxy S25 Ultra has received certification from India’s Bureau of India Standards (BIS).

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra has almost half a year to take the floor, but the leaks have already started blowing in the market. Now the new report says that the forthcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra will also not bring a battery capacity upgrade with the standard Galaxy S25 model.

The new certification on BIS suggests that the Galaxy S25 Ultra battery will not bring any major upgrades. The batteries have been spotted with model numbers EB-BS938ABE and EB-BS938ABY on the BIS certificate. At the time, the model number of the batteries only appeared on the certification; the capacities were not mentioned.

It is expected that Samsung will attach a 5,000mAh battery to the Galaxy S25 Ultra. That capacity is more than enough to handle anything these Ultra handsets are capable of, particularly with the highly efficient nature of current smartphone chips.

However, a few reports draw attention to the possibility that Samsung could use three different chips for the Galaxy S25 lineup, and the Ultra model could exclusively use a Snapdragon chip in all markets, the same as the current Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Currently, the brand is busy with its upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event, which will be on July 10 in Paris. A bunch of Galaxy devices are in line to make their debuts at the launch event, including the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, the Galaxy Buds 3, the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, the Galaxy Ring, the Galaxy Watch Ultra, and the Galaxy Watch 7.
