OnePlus is Eyeing Samsung’s Foldable Dominance

Samsung is looking forward to expanding its way into foldable markets by debuting brand-new foldable devices; meanwhile, its rival OnePlus is also getting ready to clash with the forthcoming Galaxy Z Flip FE.

Samsung recently introduced its thinner Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition and is now gearing up to debut the Galaxy Z Flip FE next year. Now a new report from China revealed by Digital Chat Station claims that OnePlus is building a flip-style foldable smartphone such as the Galaxy Z Flip 6.

The tipster also claims that OnePlus will launch the device under an affordable Ace series smartphone similar to Samsung’s FE. Noticeably, OnePlus introduced the Ace series in China, which is usually launched as the R series globally.

This means that Samsung’s forthcoming Galaxy Z Flip FE will directly clash with its Ace series foldable smartphone. However, the exact timeline for the launch of both devices has yet to be revealed, but it’s expected that the devices will be launched in the second quarter of 2025.

To stand strong against OnePlus, Samsung should offer impressive specifications and a thinner, decent design that attracts customers over OnePlus’ forthcoming flip device. Recently, it was reported that Samsung powered the Galaxy Z Flip FE with its in-house Exynos 2400 chipset.

However, Samsung is already leading the foldable market according to market share as compared to OnePlus, so it will be interesting to see which brand will win the race.
