Parent-friendly “Galaxy Watch for Kids” feature now arrives on Galaxy Watch 6 series

Samsung Galaxy watches are one of their kind and are meant to deliver the most sophisticated experience to the users. Meanwhile, the company still remains at the top when it comes rolling out the key updates for the Galaxy watch lineups. Now, the Galaxy Watch and Watch 6 Classic units are getting a new update that will eventually take the kids’ experience to the next level.

The company is rolling out a new software update for the Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic in the US, which is identified by the build numbers, R935USQU1BYD1 (40mm) / R945USQU1BYD1 (44mm) and R955USQU1BYD1 (43mm)/R965USQU1BYD1 (47mm), respectively.

Galaxy Watch6 kids feature update

Currently, it’s noticeable that the update for the 6th generation Galaxy watches is available on the Verizon, T-Mobile and AT&T carriers in the US.

More specifically, the changelog lists that this latest update significantly allows the new Galaxy Watch for Kids feature that was earlier introduced with the Galaxy Watch 7 model, while it now seems that Samsung is extending this function to the older generation galaxy watches.

At the same time, the Galaxy Watch for Kids feature is specifically designed to help kids in their learning phases, while also being independent at certain tasks in order to give their parents a much needed rest and peace of mind. This helps kids to stay connected with their parents via calls and texts, even if they are too young for a phone.

Moreover, the update also integrates the March 2025 security patch that certainly focuses on improving the device’s security and core functionality in order to offer a more secure user experience.
