Samsung Electronics has customized its latest 200MP 1/1.4” CIS ISOCELL HPB sensor, which should be introduced with its in-house Galaxy S26 Ultra initially, but it will be introduced on a Chinese smartphone from vivo.
Under the hood, Samsung has already started working on its next-generation Galaxy S26 series, including three models, the Galaxy S26 Pro, the Galaxy S26 Edge, and the Galaxy S26 Ultra, to launch in early 2026.
Earlier this year, it was reported that the Galaxy S26 Ultra could feature a 200MP telephoto camera and a 1/1.5-inch large sensor, which hinted at a massive upgrade. Meanwhile, a reliable tipster, @UniverseIce, shared a post revealing that Samsung has customized a new 200MP 1/1.4” CIS ISOCELL HPB sensor, but for Vivo.
Reportedly, the newly customized sensor will be used for the primary camera on the vivo X300 and the telephoto lens on the vivo X300 Pro. The tipster also mentioned that Samsung’s next-generation flagship model, Galaxy S26 Ultra, is still using a 1/2.55” telephoto sensor.
This suggests that Samsung is giving Vivo a bigger 1/1.4” sensor while keeping a weaker 1/2.55” sensor for its Galaxy S26 Ultra. Practically, Samsung should introduce its latest and high-end hardware initially for its in-house devices.
However, Samsung has yet to release any official details regarding this report yet, so it remains to be seen whether the report will come true.
