Verizon releases June firmware to Samsung Galaxy S22 Trio in USA
On the 13th of June, Verizon US posted that the Galaxy S22 Series will get the latest update which will consist of Android Security Patch Level: June 2022 with Software Version/firmware build no. SP1A.210812.016.S90*USQU2AVF1.This update was named ‘System Update 5’ by Verizon for the series.
Following are the three models for the Galaxy Trio and their updated Firmware build no. :
- SM-S901US S22: S901USQU2AVF1
- SM-S906US S22+: S906USQU2AVF1
- SM-S908US S22 Ultra: S908USQU2AVF1
Verizon informed this software update provides performance improvements and the latest Android security patches for your device.
USA network carriers usually provide the software update to the users. Unlike the unlocked smartphones that device manufacturers offer, the carrier-locked smartphones get the software update after 3 step process: Manufacturer testing, Internal Network Testing, and Regulatory approval.
It takes a bit longer than the device manufacturers to release regular OTA updates.
Previously Verizon released the May update on 05/20/2022.
Unlocked carrier users started receiving the Galaxy S22 series in different regions of the world on 3/06 for the June security monthly patch for their respected devices.
According to Verizon, this software update provides performance improvements and the latest Android security patches for Galaxy S22 series devices.
We can deduce that this update will bring the recent camera improvements features provided by Samsung to the unlocked devices with monthly security & privacy issues fixed by Google for Android and Samsung for OneUI.
The Galaxy S22 series is the latest flagship from Samsung and is eligible for four years of major android and UI updates, according to Samsung’s four-year software update policy.
According to Verizon, this software update has been tested to optimize device performance, resolve known issues and apply the latest security patches.

We are now at the end of April, but Samsung is still expanding the monthly update for the devices, even though it has rapidly distributed the update to almost all of them. This is due to server limitations, and now the company is rolling out the update for the Galaxy M33 5G and Galaxy A23 5G.
Notably, the Galaxy M33 5G and Galaxy A23 5G are getting an April 2024 security patch update with the firmware version numbers M336BXXS7DXD1 and A236BXXU5DXD6, respectively. With the latest update, these devices don’t get any significant changes but will enhance their security.

The company has stated that devices purchased in Germany and used in other countries, such as Belgium, Denmark, Germany, France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic, will not function in the 4G TDD band.
If you are using any of the above-mentioned smartphones in Europe, then you should start getting new updates. To install them on your device, simply go to the software update menu via the system settings, wait for the update, and then hide the download button that appears.
Samsung’s flagship device, the Galaxy S24, boasts all-new high-end hardware and software functionalities, but it still has some flaws, particularly in the camera department.
To improve the camera functionality, it has already introduced some updates, such as the April 2024 security patch update, which introduced many fixes and improvements. Now the company is planning to introduce one camera enhancement update.
Previously, the camera enhancement was supposed to be available with the May 2024 security patch update, but now, according to a popular tipter, @universeice, it is delayed and could be available for users in June.
However, there is no reason for the delay. Samsung might prefer to concentrate on rolling out the One UI 6.1 update to all eligible devices in May.
