Galaxy Fold 4 European unites gets December 2022 security firmware

The company is following the same thing at the time of the distributing December 2022 update for Galaxy Fold 4. Now the Korean giant has released the update in Europe, while users in the US already received it two days ago.

According to the changelog, the update doesn’t bring any new features, but it has some system-level improvements that fix various issues which are reported in the previous timeline. Samsung has also included some patches along with Google that separately bring resolution for the Galaxy devices.

At present, the December 2022 security update is available in Europe. Users who own the Galaxy Fold 4 device can identify the latest update by checking the latest Firmware version number F936BXXS1BVKC. It comes in around 352.31 MB software package.

Moreover, you should install the latest update on your Galaxy device because it brings up-to-date functions that provide safety for the device and stability to the existing functions of the device.

Users who own Galaxy Z Fold 4 devices in Europe can install the latest update by following the given steps

  1. First, go to system settings, then
  2. Click on the Software update menu 
  3. Then click on the Download and Install button, it will start downloading and get installed automatically.

December 2022 Security Patch Vulnerabilities:

According to the Samsung documentation, the latest patches include the fix to as many as 93 vulnerabilities, 67 of them common to (almost) all Android devices. Of the long list, 5 vulnerabilities are defined as critical, 63 high priority, and 12 moderate. Most of these vulnerabilities affect Galaxy smartphones and tablets with Android 10, Android 11, and Android 12, but some also touch the latest version of the robot. Among the latter, one concerns the RCS system, which would allow malicious actors to access the phone number of an incoming call. It also required action on the vulnerability that would allow access to the contents of the toast notifications of the Personal Area through the Nice Catch app (it is part of the Good Lock package).

Samsung updates unlocked Galaxy S22, Flip4, Fold3, and Flip3 to the April 2024 security patch in the US

In the last few days, Samsung has expanded the April 2024 security patch update to many Galaxy devices, but, due to the carrier network limitation, the update has reached only the locked variants of the devices. Fortunately, some unlocked Galaxy devices also received a new update.

Notably, Samsung has rolled out the April 2024 security patch to multiple unlocked Galaxy devices, such as the Galaxy S22, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Galaxy Z Flip 3. Users who own the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra can identify the update by the firmware version numbers S901U1UES4DXD1, S906U1UES4DXD1, and S908U1UES4DXD1 sequentially. The Galaxy Z Flip 4 is getting an update with the firmware version number F721U1UES4EXD1.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 are getting new updates with the firmware version numbers F926U1UES5HXD1 and F711U1UES6HXD1, respectively. If you are using any of the mentioned devices, you should start getting notifications about the update.

According to the official documentation, the April 2024 security patch could bring more than 40 fixes. In detail, Google has added 27 fixes, and along with this, there are 17 more fixes that are included by Samsung, which exclusively provides support for Galaxy devices.

Moreover, the latest update may also provide some extra improvements and stability by changing the internal functions of the devices. But as far as its significance, the user will not get any important changes for the device.
