Samsung started serving January 2023 security update for its foldables

Samsung has now added one more device to the January 2023 list. The company has started the latest security update campaign with Galaxy Note 10 series devices and then expanded to Galaxy S21 and Galaxy A73 5G. Now, continuing the streak, the company has started rolling out the January 2023 security update for its first-generation Galaxy Z Flip smartphone.

The January 2023 security update is making its debut in the Galaxy Z Flip device in Italy and will be available in other parts of the world soon. The device comes in two variants, 5G and LTE. The LTE variant of Galaxy Z Flip comes with version number F700FXXSAIVL3, while the 5G variant of the device is receiving the update in Australia and several European countries (The Netherlands, Spain, Romania, Switzerland, Portugal, Hungary, and the UK). The update can be identified by the following version number F707BXXS7IVL1.

The January 2023 security patch update is the regular monthly update released by Google for Android smartphones, but if we talk about Galaxy devices, Samsung has also added some more security patches with Google, which are exclusively available for its devices.

Reminder: Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy S10 are no longer eligible for Android 13

Moreover, the update doesn’t include any new features, and it’s only focused on enhancing the security of the device. It may also carry some minor features that enhance the performance and stability of the device.
