Samsung releases March 2023 security patch for Galaxy S22, Note 20, and Z Flip 4 in the US

Samsung has rolled out new security patches for some of its flagship models in the US. The Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, Galaxy S22 Ultra, Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip 4 are among the devices that are currently receiving the latest updates.

Galaxy S22 gets March 2023 security update in the US

The updates are being released for the Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra. It is being rolled out in the United States with the latest security patches of March 2023. The firmware version S90USQS2CWB7 is being distributed for carrier-locked models on the US Cellular network, while the firmware version S90U1UES2CWB7 is being distributed for unlocked models. The new updates come with a fix for over 50 vulnerabilities, including critical and moderate-level issues that affect One UI. Among the vulnerabilities that have been fixed are issues related to the decon driver problem, which could allow an attacker to create a memory access error. There are also fixes for vulnerabilities related to Bluetooth, WLAN, and media frameworks. For more information on these updates, you can visit the Samsung website.

US carriers pushed March 2023 update for Galaxy Note 20

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra follow up and update with March 2023 security patch. The update is also available in the United States, starting with carrier-locked models with N98*USQS3HWB7 firmware. The news is basically the same as we talked about above for the Galaxy S22 series: among the security fixes, there are some critical level ones, so we recommend that you update as soon as possible. The update is currently available for US Cellular, Spectrum Mobile, Comcast, Xfinity Mobile, Sprint, and T-Mobile networks.

US Carrier-locked Galaxy Z Flip 4 gets March 2023 update

Similar update in distribution for Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 starting with US Cellular carrier-locked models. The firmware is the F721USQS2CWB1and it brings with it the March 2023 security patches we’ve seen above. As you can tell from the letters of the version, it is just a security update: nothing new regarding the features, but at most, some refinements instability.

One UI 6.1’s AI Features Arrive for Unlocked Galaxy S23 and Z Fold 5 in the US

The Galaxy S23 Series is the first contender to get the One UI 6.1 update, and the device has received the update initially. However, without wasting time, the company has already expanded the update for all the eligible Galaxy devices for the first phase, and with the gradual expansion, the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 have started receiving the update in the US.

The update is now available for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra with the firmware version numbers S911U1UEU2CXCG, S916U1UEU2CXCG, and S918U1UEU2CXCG, respectively. Meanwhile, the unlocked Galaxy Z Fold 5 has received an update with the firmware version number F946U1UEU2CXCF. The update is coming in a nearly 3GB software package.

With the latest update, the company has introduced several new features that will enhance the overall user experience. In a nutshell, the update has brought several AI features, including Circle to Search, Note Assist, Chat Assist, Transkrip Assist, Live Call Translation, and On Demand Summarization. Apart from the AI feature, the company has brought some more changes to the existing functions, including Gallery, and also brought some privacy-related enhancements for more security.

If you are using the unlocked unit of the Galaxy S23 or Galaxy Z Fold 5, then you should start receiving the notification about the update availability, but if you don’t receive the notification yet, you can still manually check the update by going to the software update menu in the system settings.

Galaxy S23 FE get Major One UI 6.1 update with Galaxy AI Features in Europe

Samsung’s most-awaited One UI 6.1 update is finally available for several devices. The company has already rolled out the update to all pre-decided devices that were selected to get the update in the first phase. The Galaxy S23 FE is also one of the devices that has already received the update in the US, now it has started receiving the update in Europe.

Notably, the Galaxy S23 FE grabbed the One UI 6.1 update in Europe; it carries the firmware version number S711BXXU2CXCF. It is still using the same security patch, which is the March 2024 security patch. The update is coming in a software package of nearly 3GB. 

According to the changelog, the update has brought several Galaxy AI features and several editing tools that will allow you to create more epic images. The update will also bring several customization options, which will be available under the different UI elements, including widgets, wallpaper, alarm alerts, stickers, calendars, and many more. Ultimately, the update has introduced a completely new experience for using Galaxy devices.

If you want to take advantage of all the new features, then you should update your Galaxy devices to One UI 6.1. If you are using the Galaxy S23 FE in Europe, the One UI 6.1 update is now live in your region. Samsung rolls out One UI 6.1 to the Galaxy Tab S9 devices in Europe

Samsung has rolled out the One UI 6.1 update to all the first-wave contenders, including the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5Galaxy S23, and Galaxy S23 FE. Now it has started rolling out the update for the latest flagship tablets, i.e., the Galaxy Tab S9 series devices. 

Notably, the One UI 6.1 update is spotted on the 5G variants of the Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Tab S9+, and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, which are carrying the firmware version numbers X716BXXU2BXC9, X816BXXU2BXC9, and X916BXXU2BXC9, respectively. The update is coming in a software package of 3GB. It is expected that the company will expand the update to the Wi-Fi variants in the next few hours.

The latest update has brought several new features and improvements for the devices.
