This month, the company has continued to uphold this reputation by releasing the April 2023 security patches for its latest flagship smartphones, including the Galaxy S23 and the latest generation of foldable devices. Now, Samsung is extending this dedication to its previous flagship device, the Galaxy S21, as it begins to roll out the highly anticipated security update for the device.
The Galaxy S21 series devices join all the other smartphones that benefit from the latest available security update; in fact, the G99*USQS6EWCA for Verizon locked and G99*U1UEU6EWCA for unlocked carrier firmware is being released in the United States (but it should also become available in all other markets in the coming weeks) that introduces on the devices in question all the fixes provided for by the security patches of April 2023.
The update addresses multiple security flaws in Exynos, Samsung’s in-house chipset, and several issues related to Google’s Android operating system. The update targets 66 security flaws, out of which 55 are related to Android.
