Samsung News app officially arrived in the US with several publishers

Today great news comes from Samsung Newsroom US because the Korean tech giant officially launched the Samsung News app for United States users, which will provide users with a variety of trusted news sources in one convenient location. With morning and evening briefings, as well as custom feeds, users will be able to access the daily news they want with ease.

We already reported that the company would change the Samsung Free app to Samsung News, and now it’s finally beginning from the US.

As an update to Samsung Free, Samsung News will be made available to US Samsung Galaxy users. When their apps are updated on April 18, 2023, those with the Samsung Free app will notice that the icon has changed to Samsung News. The app will be instantly downloadable from the Samsung Galaxy Store for all other users and currently running in beta. The feature will first only be accessible on a few phones but will eventually become available on all addressable devices in the following weeks.

Samsung Smart Lock will re-arrive in Galaxy phones next week

Currently, the Samsung News app provides users with access to news content from a wide range of partners, including Bloomberg Media, CNN, Fortune, Fox News, Glamour, GQ, HuffPost, Money, Newsweek, New York Post, Parade, POLITICO, Refinery29, Reuters, Salon, Slate, Sports Illustrated, The Daily Beast, TheStreet, USA TODAY, and Vice. As time goes on, more news sources will be added to the app through Samsung’s syndication partner, upday.

Samsung Electronics’s VP of Product Development, Avner Ronen, stated, “We created Samsung News to deliver breaking and premium news to Galaxy users in an easy to access format. Our goal is to support users by letting them curate their ideal news experience,”

Samsung News offers users three easy ways to find news within the app:

  • Daily Briefings: Delivered twice a day (Morning Briefing and Evening Briefing), Samsung is working with a team of experienced news editors to bring users the top headlines of the day, all in one place.
  • News Feeds: Users can view a feed of news from Samsung’s partners, categorized and organized for easy access, and in the “Following” tab users can update their preferences to customize the news they see.
  • Podcasts: Users can listen to their favorite news and entertainment podcasts directly within the Samsung News app.
