Verizon Galaxy S23 Series received July 2023 security update in the US

For the past two months, Samsung has been delivering its latest security patch primarily in the United States. In the case of July, this update was initially provided to the Galaxy S23 Series by the T-Mobile carrier at the beginning of the month and later extended to various other carriers. The update was also made available for unlocked models.

Typically, Verizon is consistently the last to deliver updates to its carrier-locked devices. Today, the Galaxy S23 Series is still receiving the July 2023 security patch.

Verizon has started rolling out the Android July 2023 security patch for Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra with firmware versions S911USQS1AWFD, S916USQS1AWFD, and S918USQS1AWFD, respectively.

This firmware update, known as the July 2023 security patch, brings several enhancements to the device. Primarily, it focuses on improving performance and stability. Additionally, it addresses various vulnerabilities that have been detected, with a total of over 90 issues fixed. Among these, 52 vulnerabilities are related to Google, while 38 are specific to Samsung.

If you own any of the mentioned devices affiliated with Verizon, you should receive a notification for the update. However, it might take a couple of days for the update to reach all devices. Alternatively, you can manually check for the update by going to Settings -> Software Update -> Download and Install.
