Samsung Galaxy S23 gets August 2023 security patch

The Samsung Galaxy S23 is the latest flagship device from Samsung, and the device is the top contender for getting the One UI 6.0 beta update. But instead of releasing the new One UI skin, the company is now pushing another big update, a new August security patch.

Notably, the latest security patch is now rolling out in Thailand. Users who own the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra can identify the latest update by these firmware version numbers: S911BXXU3AWGJ, S916BXXU3AWGJ, and S918BXXU3AWGJ, respectively.

Going to the changelog, Samsung doesn’t reveal anything specifically. The changelog comes with copy-paste wording from other security patches, which says that your device will improve in stability and reliability.

As the update brings a new security patch, it is obvious that it will improve the security of the device. For your information, the August 2023 security patch includes 60 patches by Google that fix vulnerabilities found in the devices. Along with these, Samsung has also added 35 more patches that improve the security of the Galaxy devices.

It is worth noticing that the August update comes in a massive size of 1.4 GB. It seems that the new iteration includes some significant things that may be discovered by installing the update on the device; however, for now, there is no specific information about the changes in the update.

We are at the ending side of the month, Samsung has already introduced the July 2024 update for the Galaxy devices, informing that the company has started rolling out the update with the Galaxy A55 devices and then expanded to several Galaxy devices belonging to flagship and midrange devices.

Before exploring the list, let’s explore what the new update brings, the July 2024 update is a general security patch update for the devices.

According to the official documentation, the July 2024 security patch update arrived with more than 60 patches whereas Google has included 27 patches which make sure that the device will get improved security.

Along with the Google patches, Samsung has also introduced 33 extra patches which focus exclusively on enhancing the overall functionality and security of the devices. Apart from these, two more patches are applied to the semiconductor chips to eradicate the loopholes.
