Samsung continues with the distribution of the security patches for August 2023, even for older smartphones. In these hours, they are starting to receive the Samsung Galaxy S21, S21+, S21 Ultra, and Samsung Galaxy S21 FE in the United States.
As usual, the company has released the details of what has been implemented with the latest monthly security patches available, those of August 2023: as already seen, Samsung has solved 2 critical-level, 50 high-grade, and 1 moderate-grade (CVE) vulnerabilities, as well as 19 EVS (Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures) specific for Galaxy devices.
The unlocked Samsung Galaxy S21 family of smartphones is receiving security patches in August 2023; the update brings the firmware to the G99*U1UES8EWG3 version in the US. On the other hand, the update is available for the unlocked Galaxy S21 FE with the firmware version G990U1UES8EWG2.
If you are the owner of one of the affected smartphones and would like to manually check for the presence of the update in question, simply follow the path Settings -> Software Update -> Download and install to provide for the download and subsequent installation.
