Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 gets One UI 5.1.1 with Tab S8 WiFi

Samsung is now rolling out the One UI 5.1.1 update to the Galaxy Tab S8 (Wifi) and Galaxy Tab S7 LTE. Earlier, the company released the latest skin update for the LTE variant of the Galaxy Tab S8. The Korean government is gradually expanding it to eligible devices.

The latest update for the Galaxy Tab S8, Galaxy Tab S8+, and Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra carries the firmware version numbers X700XXU5BWH6, X800XXU5BWH6, and X900XXU5BWH6, respectively. Meanwhile, the LTE variants of the Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Tab S7+ are getting the update with firmware version numbers T875XXU4DWH3 and T975XXU4DWH3. However, it is expected that all the variants of the devices will receive the update in the next few days.

OneUI 5.1.1 brings several new enhancements to the tablets.

Samsung One UI 5.1.1 brings several enhancements under the multiple system functionalities, including multitasking, taskbar, quick sharing, Samsung Health, camera, gallery, and many more. Apart from these system-level enhancements, Samsung also introduced some new changes like drag-and-drop functionality; now you can use your tablet while changing another device wirelessly, and you can customize the layout of your Samsung Internet layout. The latest update for the Galaxy Tab S7 and Tab S8 series brings the July 2023 security patch. As both of the devices are included in the in-quarterly update category, these devices are only eligible to get four security updates per year; therefore, they are stuck with the July 2023 update.

Users should start getting notifications about the update. If you have received the notification and want to install the update, then follow the below steps:

  1. Open the system settings.
  2. Tap on the software update menu.
  3. Touch the first option, “Download and Install.”
  4. Now wait for some time to search.
