Samsung has rolled out August 2023 security to its budget smartphones, including the Galaxy A14 5G and Galaxy M14 5G devices. Notably, the August 2023 security patch is now live in India. Users who own the Galaxy A14 5G can identify the latest update by the firmware version number A146BXXS2BWH2. The Galaxy M14 5G is getting an update with firmware version number M146BXXS2AWH3. As both of the devices are listed under quarterly update, they will get one more security update this year.
The August 2023 security update is not part of One UI, so don’t expect any new features with the update. However, the update will provide more strength to the security mechanisms of the Galaxy devices. Additionally, the update may also include some improvements that enhance the overall performance and stability of the devices.
Samsung has released the Galaxy A14 5G and Galaxy M14 5G early this year; both of the smartphones come with Android 13 preinstalled. Samsung had promised to give at least four years of software update support; these devices will get two major OS updates and some security patches for four years.
