Samsung is continuously working hard nowadays and is handling its three new software packages that are available for different eligible devices, including smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches. However, in these software updates, the September 2023 security update is the latest software update for devices. The company has already updated several devices with this update, and now the Galaxy S22 is also getting to enjoy the update on some new carriers in the US.
The September 2023 update is a common update; it doesn’t bring any innovation to the device. It only brings some security enhancements. Along with this, the update may also include some improvements to the stability and performance of the device.
The carrier-locked variants of Galaxy S22 series devices are getting new updates on several new carriers, including Verizon, T-Mobile, MetroPCS, and Dish Wireless. Previously, this device had already received the update on the US cellular network. Users who own the locked variants of the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra can identify the update by the firmware version numbers S901USQS3CWH3, S906USQS3CWH3, and S908USQS3CWH3, respectively.
It is worth noticing that in the earlier update, Samsung brought some One UI 5.1.1 enhancements for the Galaxy S22 devices, like the Edit call background menu, which is now shifted to the contact details, and also revamped the user interface of Samsung messages.
The September update is now live on the above-mentioned carriers, and users who own any of the smartphones, including the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra, should start getting the update. If you haven’t gotten the update notification yet, you can quickly check to update your device by going to the system’s main settings.
