Samsung has started rolling out new updates for the Galaxy devices. Initially,  the company has updated its latest foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, with an October 2023 security patch. Now it is expanded to the premium device of the Galaxy A series, the Galaxy A54.

Notably, the update is available for the carrier-locked variant of the Galaxy A54 with firmware version number A546VSQS5AWI1. Currently, the update is spotted for Verizon-bound devices in the US and is expected to be available to more carriers in the next few days.

The latest update brings the October 2023 update, which does not bring any new features or novelty for the device; it is just a standard security patch that aims to bring strength to Galaxy devices. The update may also include some improvements to the features and make the devices more stable.

According to the official documentation, the latest security patch brings more than 40 fixes, of which 34 enhance the security of the Android OS. Along with Google patches, Samsung has also brought 12 more patches that will fix the issues found in the Galaxy devices. These patches are exclusively available by the company for its users.

Being a midrange flagship device, Samsung has listed it on the monthly update list; therefore, it is continuously receiving new updates every month. However,  most of these updates don’t bring any new changes for the device, but they always refresh the security mechanisms of the devices.

The Galaxy A54 is the latest premium smartphone introduced in the Galaxy A series. It was launched back in March. Samsung has packed the device with Android 13 preinstalled, and Samsung has promised to give at least five years of software support, which means the device will get four Android updates and security updates for five years.
