Carrier-locked Galaxy Note 20 & Note 20 Ultra getting January 2024 update in the USA

Samsung has rolled out the January 2024 patch to some Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Flip 4, and Galaxy M32 4G devices. Now,  moving forward, the company is expanding the update to older flagship devices, the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra smartphones.

Galaxy Note 20 Series get January 2024 Security Update

The update is live for the locked variants of the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra with firmware version numbers N981USQS6HWL5 and N986USQS6HWL5, respectively. As of writing, the update has been spotted on the variants that are affiliated with the US Cellular Network, and it is expected to be available to more carriers in the coming days.

The January 2024 security patch doesn’t bring any new features or innovations for the user, but it will bring some enhancements for the security of the devices. Going into details, the latest update includes several new fixes that are included by Google as well as Samsung; more specifically, there are a total of 80 security vulnerabilities addressed in the update that were found in the previous updates.

Moreover, the update is simply designed to improve the security of the devices so your data can be protected against external threats, which can be harmful if entered into your device. If you want to be secure, then you should always keep the device up-to-date.
