The Tesla application permits owners to be in direct communication with their vehicles anytime, anywhere. And now the application for iOS devices is getting new convenient support named Ultra Wideband (UWB) in the latest 2024.2.3 version.

This support appears more reliable and secure compared to previous times. The recent reports from Not a Tesla App are reporting that this ultra-wideband support will deliver more secure use of phones as digital keys as compared to Bluetooth does since its careful tracking mechanism permits the car to know exactly where the key is, plus it also helps protect against replay spoofing attacks.

However, at the moment, the brand has only rolled out this update for iOS devices, so only iOS users are eligible to experience this ultra-wideband support. However, it is expected that some of the recent Pixel and Galaxy smartphones, which include UWB chips, could eventually receive support.

It is also reported that, with this new update, the brand is offering a facility to know which user is next to the driver of the car in the scenario where two people who have phone keys for the car are getting into it. Somehow this new precision tracking is appearing similar, which permits the users to exactly locate AirTags of Apple even after the things they are attached to are missed out on the cushions of the couch.

Once the users finish downloading the update, they should be prompted to “Upgrade Your Phone Key,” followed by a request to offer the application access to Nearby Interactions, an iOS setting that opens up the iPhone’s U1 chip to the application, which is housed under Settings >> Privacy & Security >> Nearby Interactions.

Noticeably, some of the selected Model 3 and 2023 Model X support the feature, whereas the newer Model X, S, and Cybertruck should receive it. While all other iPhones from 11 except SE variants have arrived with UWB,
