Google has started delivering a new security feature on Android smartphones for enhancing the secured experience of the users, namely, Android Safe Browsing.

Basically, Android Safe Browsing is a part of Google Play Services, and it just helps people avoid dangerous websites and files, for which it checks out URLs against the list of risky web resources of Google. Plus, this also warns the users while they are downloading the dangerous files. Let’s take a closer look at this Android Safe Browsing.

Four months ago, around October 2023, Android Safe Browsing features were spotted at first, and now, after such a long wait, finally, they are appearing on a wide number of smartphones.

The term green robot refers to a security feature that basically warns the user that either their camera or microphone is active. Also, the Android Safe Browsing feature asks Google Play Protect to be turned on. From the feature page, one can easily get access to the list of supported applications.

The users can easily verify if they have received this feature yet or not by just following the steps mentioned here: Security & Privacy Settings >> More Security Privacy on Google Pixel series smartphones. Whereas on Samsung smartphones, you can check Security >> Settings & Privacy.

To check the latest version of the Google Play Services application installed on Android phones, simply reach the dedicated page of the application on the Google Play Store using the badge placed below and, if required, click on Update. Noticeably, this application will not be found by searching the store, and as per the rule, it automatically gets upgraded on all the smartphones of the green robot.
