Update: Samsung is informing these days of an important news that concerns smartphone owners with a few years on their shoulders. As of March 15, 2024, Samsung Wallet updates will no longer be available for devices running Android 9 Pie or earlier. This does not mean that the app will stop working overnight: it will be possible to continue using the service with the version available on the device, “bearing into account that service discontinuities may occur for maintenance“.

Samsung Galaxy users, get attention. If you are on Android 9.0 or the lower version as of now, then it’s a warning for you guys. You will no longer be able to use Samsung Wallet on your device as of March 15, 2024.

Samsung is dropping the Samsung Wallet Support on Android 9 and below

Since the brand is already on the Android 14 version, which is far more upgraded than Android 9.0 (Pie), Plus, the brand has upgraded the application to match the OS version, so it’s pretty obvious that the upgraded application will not flawlessly run on older OS versions. And one of the upgrade applications is Samsung Wallet.

Soon, the Galaxy smartphones that are running on Android 9.0 and below will support Samsung Wallet application updates as of March 15, 2024, since Samsung has decided to end support for Samsung Wallet on Android 9.0 (Pie) or older.

This is being speculated by a post on X, which stated that “Samsung is ending support for Samsung Wallet on Android 9.0 and older starting March 15, 2024!” and following this statement, an image is also attached.

Although, for now, you can continue to use the version of Samsung Wallet currently installed on your Galaxy smartphones. Also, if you are already on the Android 10 or above OS version, then you should update your Samsung Wallet now to use the latest and upgraded version.
