Instagram Lets You Share Real-Location Same As Snapchat
Meta-owned Instagram is the second-most downloaded platform application from the Google Play Store, and to maintain this legacy, Meta always actively tries hard to upgrade it in all ways.
Now, Meta is planning something new for its Instagram. The reports say that Meta is actively working on a new feature for Instagram named Friend Map. Which will show where your friends are on a map of the globe.
Although it’s new for Instagram, it’s now available for Snapchat users since this feature is already in Snapchat. In the Snapchat language, it is named Snap Map. Basically, it just shows the live location of friends if they enable the feature.
Now Instagram is gearing up to bring this map feature. As per the reports, by adding an extra layer of security, the brand is permitting the users to choose who can view their encrypted location.
You will have three options for these new friend map features:
- All followers
- Circle of close friends
- Or even no one.
You can choose any one option as per your convenience. Also, the map offers an incognito mode, which will hide the last active location. it will also permit you to leave notes visible to others on the map. Noticeably the location would o be updated only when Instagram is opened.
Although it is not clear yet when Meta will introduce this “Friend Map” feature, It is expected that in the upcoming weeks it will roll out these features in the beta version, then stably.
