Samsung Aims for Galaxy Ring Compatibility on Non-Galaxy Phones (Excluding iPhone)
Samsung, at the first Galaxy Unpacked event back in January, already teased the fans with an unexpected Galaxy Ring. Now Samsung has confirmed some of the details regarding the upcoming health tracker, which include the devices it will support, battery sizes, and more.
The Korean giants are now setting up to announce the Galaxy Ring at the next Galaxy Unpacked event, which is rumored to be held in early July. It is being speculated by the reports that, in an interview with CNET, the battery size of the Galaxy Ring will be a mere 14.5 mAh, whereas the larger variants will go up to 21.5 mAh.
In a separate interview, the Korean brand mentioned battery life between five and nine days. As for weight, the smallest size apparently measures 2.3 grams, whereas the largest is 2.9 grams. By a quick comparison, the Oura Ring weighs 4g to 6g, just depending on size.
Probably something interesting, though, are some details on Galaxy Ring compatibility. The giants elaborate on the forthcoming Galaxy Ring by stating that one can actually use the Galaxy Ring side by side with a Galaxy Watch, and both of them can show metrics that depend on what they are best at. Not only this, but the users will also get the power to combine their data to make for much better results; obviously, this seems quite useful.
The best part is that users don’t have to skip one gadget for another; they can use and wear both at the same time, although smartwatches seem more efficient and useful as compared to smart rings.
Apart from all this, Samsung is also actively working on ensuring that non-Galaxy Android phones could also be able to use the Galaxy Ring. This means that for pairing the Galaxy Ring, a Galaxy smartphone will not be the basic need. And somehow, it appears that the brand is only ensuring this for Android users and not for iPhone owners.
