Samsung Unveils Galaxy Ring and Aims for Smart Healthcare Platform
Samsung for increasing the enthusiasm among fans has already teased the Galaxy Ring at the Galaxy Unpacked event last month.
Samsung surprised Galaxy fans last month with the unexpected teasing of the Galaxy Ring. However, at that time, it did not reveal much more than just a splashy video and a name. Here, we are now discussing more about the upcoming ring.
As per the reports, it is speculated that a tipster gets a chance to spend time with a prototype ring ahead of the Mobile World Congress. The reports are saying that the upcoming Galaxy Rig will be very light in weight and have three shades for the choice, though the Korean brand’s focused attention on the final product is subject to change.
The three shades of Galaxy Ring will be:
- Platinum silver
- Ceramic black
- Gold
The Galaxy Ring weighs less than it looks and also does not feel as dense as it was expected. It has a little concave shape, and each color was offered in sizes from 5 to 13, which is a tiny wider range of options as compared to usual, along with sizes marked as S through XL within the band.
VP of Digital Health Dr. Hon Pak of Samsung did not particularly state exactly which sensors are housed in the ring but mentioned sleep insights based on heart rate, movement, and respiratory indicators. He also stated that the partnership of Samsung with Natural Cycles will extend to the Ring as well, just for direct competition with the Oura Ring. The battery power is also increased on the Galaxy Ring. It will also help in informing the new metric since Samsung is announcing the Health application in the upcoming time named My Vitality Score. It is based on a model from the University of Georgia that incorporates mainly four factors: activity, resting heart rate, and heart rate variability. It is also expected that Vitality Score will also be a feature of Samsung Galaxy Watches, maybe in the next Galaxy Watch 6.
Galaxy Ring owners will also be able to specify particular health goals and receive related updates and tips in the form of Booster Cards, which are also coming to the Galaxy Health application by the end of this year.
