Samsung Setting Up To Praduce Galaxy Ring: Here’s More About

Published

on

Samsung is on the way to expanding its smart wearable area by debuting a brand new and first smart ring, the ‘Galaxy Ring.’

Back in January 2024, at a Galaxy Unpacked event, the brand instantly played a short video presentation of the forthcoming brand-new smart wearable gadget named the Galaxy Ring. However, at the event, the brand was just teased by a short video of the ring and didn’t reveal anything regarding the ring. Not even the price.

Then, the tipster started their investigation and unveiled the details regarding the gadget, such as the implementation of a smart health platform, compatibility with non-Galaxy devices, and many more. And now the recent reports are unveiling more details on the preparations underway at Samsung.

The reports from the Korean newspaper are reporting more about the Galaxy Ring than what is under construction at Samsung. Thanks to Daniel Seung, global head of B2B wearables, IoT, and accessories at Samsung Electronics, who already revealed that the brand will introduce the future Galaxy Ring after the second quarter of this year.

This revelation directly leads to thinking about the next Galaxy Unpacked this summer, an event during which Samsung will debut its new smartwatches and foldable smartphones. It’s pretty obvious that the brand is already gearing up for the production of the next wearable device; Samsung reportedly plans to start mass production in May, primarily budgeting for about 400,000 units.

Beyond questions, Samsung has a vast range of its trustable fan community, but the fact is that the Galaxy Ring is the very first gadget of its kind. However,  at the moment, it’s not worth deciding whether this forthcoming Galaxy Ring will increase the enthusiasm among the fan community or not. And Samsung still has the probability of adjusting production as per the response of the market in progress.

It appears that the brand could not attach some of the Galaxy Watch series’ medical device features to the Galaxy Ring. The reason behind this is that it may require more time to obtain medical device certifications for features of this type. It is speculated that the device could boast functions such as blood pressure and ECG measurement and irregular heart rhythm notification (IHRN), just to give a few examples.

At the moment, there’s a lack of a plethora of details, in addition to the availability of three distinct shades, including gold, silver, and black, and various sizes. But it is expected that soon the brand will hint or reveal some details regarding the forthcoming Galaxy Ring.

Samsung Is Setting Up For ‘Galaxy Glasses’; New Patent

Samsung has bigger plans to expand its smart wearable family beyond expectations, as Galaxy Glasses are next in line.

Samsung, apart from the forthcoming sixth-generation foldable Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 Galaxy Ringdevices, which are supposed to debut at the Galaxy Unpacked Event 2024 in July, is also busy expanding the wearable area by debuting a brand new smart glasses.

Back in 2023, Samsung had already trademarked the name for its smart glasses, Galaxy Glasses, from which reports regarding this are blowing. And now the recent reports are unveiling that Samsung has now filed a patent with the World Intellectual Property Organization for its smart glasses.

It is being speculated by Patently Apple that the patent displays the potential design of smart glasses by Samsung along with its charging case. Although the design of the glasses does not appear to be too different from the usual spectacles, For more details, the patent reveals some technical details about it.

The patent is revealing that the lenses are housed in their default place, but the left rim of them has magnetic connection points that will permit the glasses to charge while placed on their cover. The batteries are placed at each temple tip. Curiously, the patent makes no mention of cameras or sensors—components generally expected in XR devices.

Probably the patent will focus simply on the physical design. Samsung might file separate subsequent patents covering the more complex technical aspects of an invention. For now, nothing more has been revealed; the patent only reveals some insights, and it’s too early to say if Samsung will launch this product.

However, Samsung has not unveiled anything regarding the smartphone officially yet, but it is expected that some news from Tipster and the brand will get revealed soon.
