Samsung updates Galaxy S20 FE to the March 2024 security patch
Samsung usually provides the update for the main series of devices, and then it expands it to the fan edition series. Following tradition, the company is doing the same, like here, where the company provided the March 2024 security patch to the Galaxy S20 series devices, and now it is expanding the update to the fan edition devices.
Notably, the Galaxy S20 FE has started getting new updates in Latin American countries. The update is currently spotted in Brazil and will soon be available in more countries. The update carries firmware version number G781BXXS9HXB4. The update is coming in a software package of 253.54 MB, which indicates that the update will only be limited to providing security-related updates.
According to the official documentation, the March 2024 security patch is one of the standard maintenance updates that provides some internal improvements for the device, and there will be no visible changes available. This means users may experience some improvement in the functioning of devices, but it doesn’t particularly bring any specific changes for the device.
Going to the details, the March 2024 security patch includes more than 40 fixes; of those, 37 are provided by Google, which address the issues found in the Android OS, while there are nine more features introduced by Samsung that enhance the performance of Galaxy devices exclusively.
If you are using the Galaxy S20 FE device in Brazil, then you should start getting notifications about the update availability, but if you haven’t received the update yet, you can also check the update manually by going to the system update from the system settings.
