Samsung Galaxy S24 Owners Are Facing ‘Face Unlock’ & Screen Mirroring Issue

Published

on

Nobody can deny the success of the Samsung Galaxy S24, as in just a few days it has broken the pre-order records of its predecessors. Galaxy S24 is one of the latest premium series in the Galaxy family, yet, despite being a flagship, it has ‘face unlock’ issues and Miracast.

Samsung in January debuted its Galaxy S24 flagship series, which is a powerful package of brighter screens, upgraded software, high-end processors, better battery life, and some AI-powered features. The overall sales of the Galaxy S24 series have increased by 8% globally.

Sad to relate. Despite high demand and being a flagship,  the owners of the Galaxy S24 smartphone are still reporting issues with the Face Unlock feature and Miracast-based screen mirroring, as the report says

The owners of the Galaxy S24, regarding the Face Unlock issue, reported that their smartphone is unable to detect their faces in slightly low-light scenes. And the disappointing fact is that when they open their camera application in the same scene, they can see themselves in the camera using the front-facing camera. Despite re-registering their faces, the trouble lasts.

On the other hand, the other smartphones seem to perform well without any issues in the same lighting scenarios, which means that the Galaxy S24 smartphone is the root cause. However, Samsung Community Forum moderators have offered a few solutions to the issue, but unfortunately, none of those seem to work. The brand has not identified this as an official issue.

On the other side, some of the users are also reporting issues with mirroring on their TVs while using Miracast. Whereas the older Galaxy smartphones, which include the Galaxy A52, Galaxy S10+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra models, appear to wirelessly mirror their screen on a TV using Miracast, the Galaxy S24 is also facing the same issues. It is expected that soon Samsung will acknowledge this issue.

Samsung plans to implement its dual chipset strategy for Galaxy Z Fold6 and Flip6

Samsung is preparing to introduce its next-generation foldable device, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. However, given that the new smartphones in the Z lineup typically launch between July and August, some rumors suggest that the company might host the next Galaxy Unpacked event on July 10, 2024. Despite the date being more than three months away, numerous details have surfaced online.

According to recent reports, Samsung plans to implement its dual chipset strategy for the foldable, mirroring the Galaxy S series lineup, where some models of the Galaxy S base and Galaxy S+ devices feature Snapdragon, while in other markets, they feature Exynos.

The next foldable lineup rumoured to come with multiple chipsets; for example, the Galaxy Z Flip 6’s last Geekbench listing showed that it has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip. However, this processor is already one year old, so there are fewer expectations that it could be available in the main models. However, if a rumor proves to be accurate, it could potentially be available for the FE variant of the devices.

For your information, the rumors have revealed that Samsung could introduce two new versions of the foldable devices with the brand names ‘FE’ and ‘Ultra‘, so to make the difference, it may introduce them in separate chipsets. If it provides the older chipset for the FE version, then it will be successful in cost-cutting and releasing the device at a low cost.

Samsung Galaxy devices come with numerous customizable applications that offer a multitude of options, enabling users to easily customize the UI elements and participate in the Galaxy ecosystem. Among the many modules available, the Lockstar module offers the ability to customize the lock screen.

With the lockstar module, users get some additional options to customize the lock screen and AOD of the Galaxy smartphone and tablet. Unfortunately, it doesn’t provide the AOD-related customization feature for the Galaxy S24 yet, but now there is good news for the users as the company has confirmed to provide some additional settings for managing the Always on Display screen.

According to the information, some Galaxy S24 users in Korea have made numerous complaints and demanded some customizability of AOD through Lockstar. However, it is unclear if these changes will be implemented through the next application update or in a different way. However, the Good Lock support team has confirmed that they are actively working on this issue.

If we talk about the AOD customization option available on other devices, you can change the color and style of the clock and other elements, and you can also manage the brightness of the AOD manually.
