Samsung has released the March 2024 security patch update for the Galaxy A53 device in the US, but it was only available for the locked variants. Now the device has started receiving the update for the unlocked variants as well,.

The carrier-unlocked Galaxy A53 5G device is available with the firmware version number A536U1UES8DXC2. Nearly all carriers have received the update, with the remaining units expected to receive it in the coming days.

The March 2024 update is one of the standard updates that doesn’t bring any new features, but at the same time, it will provide you with some enhancements that will indirectly provide a performance boost as it will fix some internal functions.

Going to the details, the latest security patch update brings more than 40 fixes, of which 37 were introduced by Google to address the issues found in the Android OS, while nine other fixes were added by Samsung to enhance security-related functions for Galaxy devices exclusively.

If you are using the unlocked Galaxy A53 device in the US, then you should start receiving the update notification on your device, or if you don’t receive the update, you can still check the update manually by going to the software update from the system settings.

Samsung launched the Galaxy A53 device back in 2022; it came with Android 12 preinstalled. Later,  the device received two more major updates in the form of Android 13 and Android 14. Based on the recent policy, the device is still eligible to get two more major updates. Along with the major update, the device will also receive security patch updates until 2027.
