Google is actively setting up to announce a stable Android 15 skin in the Android Tech industry, undoubtedly which will bring the latest upgrades, brand new features, and improvements, out of which one of the most noticeable is revamping the system volume panel UI.

At least this time, Google appears to be gearing up to revamp the system volume panel UI, which means that now you will have a new way to control the volume on your phone. Currently, you can only view the volume panel by pressing a volume key and then selecting the three-dot menu located at the bottom.

Currently, it features five various sliders for each volume stream. From top to bottom, which includes

  • Media
  • Call
  • Ring
  • Notification
  • Alarm

Apart from the header steam icons and sliders of the panel, there are also buttons to open the sound and vibration settings of Android and avoid the panel. In the second developer preview of Android 15, the new volume panel features much thicker pill-shaped sliders. A dot is placed at the end where the sider’s maximum value is, and the icons are also tappable to instantly mute that stream. The revamped volume panel is also collapsible. Clicking on the button next to the media volume slider collapses or expands the panel. Also, in the scenario where there is active media playback, the volume panel is collapsed by default.

Apart from this, Google has also added a few playful animations to the volume panel. This time the stream name text moves with the slider, so you can always see the stream name as you adjust the volume level. Also, the volume panel will enable additional power for things such as spatial audio and ‘noise control.’

It is expected that Google will roll out all these new changes to the revamped system volume panel in the forthcoming beta release.
