The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 started getting an April 2024 security patch in the US. Earlier, the company had already distributed the update to the Brazilian units of the devices and was gradually expanding to more countries.

The unlocked units of the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra are starting to receive the April 2024 security patch with the firmware version numbers N981U1UES6HXD1 and N986U1UES6HXD1. Meanwhile, the locked units of the devices haven’t received the update yet, but it is expected that those devices will also get the update in the next few days.

The April 2024 security patch update primarily focuses on enhancing the devices. According to the details, the update will address more than 40 security vulnerability issues. To fix them, Google has added 27 patches, while Samsung has added 17 patches, which fix the issues found in the Galaxy devices exclusively.

The Galaxy Note 20 series is not eligible to get Galaxy AI features

Samsung launched the Galaxy Note 20 series of devices back in 2020 and promised to provide software support for four years. It is eligible to get four major software updates in the form of Android updates and also provide some security-related software updates for the devices. Therefore, the device is no longer eligible to get any major updates, and it is limited to Android 13 and will not be able to receive any AI features.

However, the Korean giant will continue to bring new security patch updates for the device this year, so to take advantage of security enhancements, you should always keep the device up-to-date. Now,  with the latest development, if you are using the Galaxy Note 20 in the US, then update your device to the April 2024 security patch update.
