YouTube Gets AI-powered “Jump Ahead” Feature in the US

YouTube is rolling out a new jump-ahead AI-powered feature for its users. Under this functionality, users will be able to skip the video by double-tapping to the most-viewed part of the video.
Previously, when you double-tapped on the video in the right half of the screen, it forwarded the video to 10 seconds. Now, to make this function more useful, YouTube has used AI, which is able to analyze the most-viewed part of the video and redirect users directly.
According to the information, the new facility will be limitedly available to users who have joined the premium memberships. It is worth noticing that YouTube has had this functionality for a long time. A few days ago, when the company had previewed this capability, it suggested a small experiment.

As this is currently in the initial stage, the functionality is only available for US users and those working on the English videos. According to the information, the jump-ahead feature is available for users who join the premium membership before June 1. However, after passing the experiment phase, it may be available for every user.
A couple of months ago, YouTube brought the Picture in Picture (PiP) feature for free to users. Initially, it was limited to US users, but it is expected to be available to other countries’ users. To get the latest functionality, users should always keep the YouTube update.
