Samsung Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S21 FE are getting the latest security patch update in the form of a May 2024 update. These devices are not getting the update in the US. However, the latest update will not bring any new changes for your device, but it will dedicately bring enhancements for the security of the devices.

The Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S21 FE are getting updated for locked variants

Samsung has started rolling out the May 2024 security patch for the locked units of the Galaxy S22 series and Galaxy S21 FE devices with the firmware version numbers S90*USQS5EXE2 and G990USQSBGXE2, respectively.

The May 2024 security patch for the devices will fix several new features that will improve the overall security of the devices. According to the official documentation, the latest update will provide more than 50 fixes that will enhance the working of the devices. Google has introduced 31 fixes that will address issues related to the Android OS. Along with this, Samsung also added 25 more patches that exclusively improve the system’s functioning.

Moreover, as these devices have received a major update recently, the latest patch may introduce some more improvements to bring more stability to the features that come with One UI 6.1.

The latest update for the Galaxy S21 FE and Galaxy S22 series is live in the US. If you are using any of the devices, then you should start getting a new update notification, but if you haven’t received the update yet, it can also be verified manually. To do that, you just need to navigate to the system settings, then tap on the software update menu.
