US Unlocked Galaxy S22 and S21 FE Now Getting May 2024 Security Patch

Samsung has rolled out the May 2024 security patch to the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S21 FE devices in the U.S. Earlier, the company had already rolled out the update to some units of the devices in several regions as well as in the US, but for the locked variants only. Now,  unlocked variants are also getting the update.

Users who own the unlocked units of the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra can identify the latest update by the firmware version numbers S901U1UES5EXE2, S906U1UES5EXE2, and S908U1UES5EXE2, respectively. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S21 FE is getting a new update with the firmware version number G990U1UESBGXE1. With the latest update, there will be some internal changes taking place that do not bring any significant features for the users.

According to the official documentation, the May 2024 security patch update will provide more than 50 patches, and Google has included 31 fixes that will enhance the security of the Android OS. Meanwhile, Samsung has also added 25 patches that dedicatedly improve the performance and stability of the Galaxy devices.

Moreover, the latest update may also bring some improvements to the different system functionalities that will make the use of different functions go more smoothly. So if you have faced any issues while using the device, then you must update your device to the latest version.

If you want to take advantage of the latest feature, then update your device to the latest version by following these simple steps: First, go to the system settings, then select the software update menu. Here,  tap on the download and install option. If it shows a new update available, hit the on-download button.
