No New OS Update for Samsung Galaxy A52, A52 5G, and A52s 5G
Samsung Galaxy A52 is a family of three members, including the Galaxy A52, Galaxy A52 5G, and Galaxy A52s. It lost its software support after receiving the latest Android 14-based One UI 6.1 update.
Recently, Samsung has delivered the One UI 6.1 update to the Galaxy A52 lineup, and that will be its final major OS update. The brand debuted all three Galaxy A52, Galaxy A52 5G, and Galaxy A52s back in 2021, when it followed the policy to offer three years of major Android upgrades and four years of security patches for specific devices. According to this policy, Samsung promised to offer three years of major OS updates to the Galaxy A52 lineup.
Finally, Galaxy A52 models have received all the allotted OS updates. They arrived with Android 11-based One UI 3 out of the box, and until the current Android 14-based One UI 6.1 update, they have received their three major OS and One UI updates. Since they have received three major OS updates, they are only eligible to receive security updates. Those security updates will come every three months for the Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A52 5G, at least until 2025, and monthly for the Galaxy A52s. It will be interesting to see whether or not security updates will be available after that.
On the other hand, the Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A51 5G received security patches for four years, but it seems that the A52 lineup could get a fifth year of security updates before Samsung discontinues support. As far as Android and One UI updates that bring new features are concerned.
