Sleep Apnea feature appears on older Galaxy watches before Galaxy Watch 7

Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra in the Galaxy Unpacked event 2024, which will go live today.

The next generation of watches is equipped with all-new high-end specs to offer a seamless experience to users. Apart from software, it will also provide some more new features, like sleep apnea.

Sleep Apnea Feature To Galaxy Watches

Samsung has already received approval from the FDA in the US for the sleep apnea detection feature, but the company has not introduced it to any of its Galaxy watches. This indicates that Samsung may be waiting for the perfect opportunity, and the launch of the Galaxy Watch 7 will be the perfect one.

We have already got a clue about the availability of the sleep apnea feature in the coming days. According to a report on Reddit, a user shared a couple of screenshots where we can clearly see the information about the sleep apnea feature. For instance, detecting Sleep apnea requires minimum sleep data for two nights.

It is worth noticing that the Samsung Monitor app is compatible with watches, from the Galaxy Watch 4 series to new ones, and will run on the minimum OS of WearOS5 and One UI watch 6.

This indicates the feature will be available with the One UI 6 watch update. However, currently, if the feature is working on the One UI 6 watch beta update, it still needs to be pretty acute before appearing in the official update.
