Galaxy S20 series with Galaxy S20 FE get August 2024 update

Samsung Galaxy S20 and S20 FE have started getting Europe’s August 2024 security patch. For identification, users who own the Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra can check these firmware numbers: G981BXXSLHXG1, G986BXXSLHXG1, and G988BXXSLHXG1, respectively.

Meanwhile, the FE variant is getting the same update with firmware version number G781BXXSDHXH1. The update is now live in most European countries and is expected to be available in all countries in the coming days.

The August 2024 update is a general security patch update that doesn’t bring any significant changes to the devices. However, if you are concerned about your device’s security, you should always keep it up-to-date with the latest security patch.

If you are using the above-mentioned devices in Europe, you can now update your device by going to the software update menu in the system settings.
