Perhaps Samsung is currently dealing with the distribution of the September 2024 security update in several eligible markets; the majority of the Galaxy flagships have already been enjoying the update up until now.

Meanwhile, in this series, Samsung has covered the Galaxy S20 FE units in the US market on several carriers; it’s now time for the carrier-unlocked models to get the update and also expand to more carrier-locked models.

The software update for the carrier-locked (T-Mobile, MetroPCS, Dish Wireless, and US Cellular) Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G can be identified by the G781USQSIHXH2 software version in the US.

Meanwhile, the Central American units (as spotted in the Panama region) of the Galaxy S20 FE (4G units) are also receiving the same update that comes with the G780GXXSCEXI1 firmware version.

The carrier-unlocked Samsung Galaxy S20 FE started getting the September 2024 security update in the US, carrying the G781U1UESIGXH1 software version.

Feature-wise, the update doesn’t introduce any major yet noticeable feature or changes, while it brings heaps of improvements to the device’s overall security that eventually offers a safe and secure environment to the users and resolves certain bugs all while protecting the device from various external harms.

In addition, the update further includes plenty of relevant enhancements to the Galaxy device’s functionality and behaviour, along with resolving certain issues, bringing stability and reliability, applying the latest security patches, and adding some performance optimisations in order to provide a smooth, stable, bugfree,  and optimised performance to the users.

As of now, the aforementioned update is rolling out to the carrier-unlocked Galaxy S20 FE owners in the US, while the update is expected to follow the other eligible regions soon.
