Samsung expands the September 2024 security update for the Galaxy S21 series and Galaxy S21 FE to more US carriers

Samsung is on track to deliver the September 2024 security update to its Galaxy devices in several regions, beginning with its home country, Korea, then expanding it to more eligible countries. The carrier-locked Galaxy S21 series and S21 FE 5G have already received the update; it’s now time for the expansion of the update to more carriers in the US.

The September 2024 security update for the carrier-locked (DishWireless, Sprint, T-Mobile) Samsung Galaxy S21 series can be identified with the G991USQSCGXH2/G996USQSCGXH2/G998USQSCGXH2 software versions.

On the other side, the update for the carrier-locked (T-Mobile, MetroPCS, DishWireless) Galaxy S21 FE 5G units carries the G990USQSCGXH1 software version.

Meanwhile, being a regular security patch, the fresh update is accompanied by plenty of fixes for all the security-related vulnerabilities while also carrying several improvements to the device’s overall security to offer a more safe and secure environment to the users, along with protecting the device from certain malicious malware.

In addition, the update further carries plenty of relevant enhancements to the device’s overall functionality, along with resolving certain known issues, fixing bugs, applying the latest security patches, and adding stability and performance optimisations in order to provide a more stable, smooth, and optimised experience to the users.
