Samsung Galaxy S24 FE to Offer 7 Years of OS and Security Updates
Samsung recently launched its latest fan edition smartphone, the Galaxy S24 FE, and promised seven years of software support.
Samsung Galaxy S24 FE features a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and Full HD+ resolution. It is based on the Exynos 2400e chipset and runs Android 14 out of the box.
Samsung adopted a long-lasting seven-year software support game plan earlier this year with the original Galaxy S24 series. Now to expand this long-lasting support, the company is assured to offer seven years of software support for the Galaxy S24 FE.
Samsung Promises 7 Years of Unmatched Software Support for Galaxy S24 FE
This means that the newly launched Galaxy S24 FE will receive seven major OS updates and seven years of security patches.
Currently, it runs Android 14 with One UI 6.1 out of the box, and according to the company’s assurance, it will receive up to Android 21. This means that the Galaxy S24 FE will receive its last major Android OS update, Android 21, in 2031.
Jumping on the monthly security patches, it will receive the regular security patches up to 2031. The patches will make sure to fix all the bugs and known issues, enhance the secured experience, and upgrade the overall system stability and reliability.
Recently, it’s also been reported that Samsung will offer six years of major Android OS software support to its upcoming mid-range device, the Galaxy A16 smartphone.
