Samsung started an incredible revolution by implementing huge seven years of OS updates, beginning with the flagship Galaxy S24 series. While offering seven years of OS updates was a huge surprise for the Galaxy audience, here’s all the Galaxy phones and tablets that are eligible for seven years of software updates.
Google got into headlines when it announced the extension of software updates, confirming seven years of software and security updates just before launching the Pixel 8 series.
Following this extension, Samsung too interestingly confirmed to offer seven years of software updates, perhaps including entire Android and One UI updates.
To recall, though Samsung has always been consistent towards its software update policy, it also made some significant changes within its policy. For example, the company first changed its policy with the Galaxy S21 series, extending the software updates from three to four of OS and five years of security patches for some selected flagship and mid-tier phones.
Meanwhile, this policy continues, but Samsung has another surprise in store. Soon after Google assured seven years of OS and security updates, Samsung too followed the same path and started inclining seven years of both OS and security patches, beginning with the Galaxy S24 lineup and will be continued to all the eligible Galaxy phones and tablets.
