Galaxy S25 Ultra Price May Increase Due to Leaked Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 Cost

The Samsung Galaxy S25 is supposed to be based on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. The leaked price of the chipset suggests a price hike in the coming Galaxy S25 Ultra.
Samsung’s coming Galaxy S25 series is one of the most hot topics among Galaxy enthusiasts regarding its processor. Initially, the entire lineup was rumored to be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 4; later, it shifted to the Exynos, and now a new chipset has come into existence: Snapdragon 8 Elite.
However, it remains to be seen exactly which chipset will power the Galaxy S25 Ultra. But if the early reports come true and Samsung powers the coming flagship series with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, then it will be more costly as compared to its predecessor.
According to the Digital Chat Station, Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipsets will be 20% more expensive as compared to their predecessors due to the cost of TSMC’s 3nm manufacturing process.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is reported to cost $190, whereas the Dimensity processor could cost $155. The tipster also cautioned in a follow-up comment that this was approximate pricing only. Noticeably, the processor prices can depend on different factors, such as exclusivity and volume. This means the quoted price might not be what smartphone brands including Samsung, Xiaomi, or ZTE would pay.
Samsung has yet to officially announce which chipset it will use to power the coming Galaxy S25 series. But from the above discussion, it’s quite clear that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will be more expensive than its predecessor Galaxy S24 Ultra.
