Samsung One UI to Become Unified Platform for Expanding AI Features

As expected, Samsung announced major plans at the Samsung Developer Conference 2024. One of the most notable plans Samsung announced is that it is looking forward to extending One UI beyond mobile devices to unite all its devices under a single software ecosystem called One UI next year.
This will be a significant change that aims to make things easier for users of all Samsung devices. Currently, Samsung’s devices, like TVs, home appliances, and smartphones, have a dedicated ecosystem. For instance, the Samsung TVs run Tizen.
The aim behind this step is to integrate advanced AI-powered functionality across its portfolio to enhance customer experiences. The Executive Vice President and Head of Framework R&D announced, “As we want more people to benefit from AI experiences, we will be expanding a selection of these Galaxy AI experiences beyond our flagship devices into our A series and continue to bring Galaxy AI to the entire Galaxy ecosystem.”
This suggests that the company will expand its availability of the Galaxy AI experience beyond premium devices such as the A series. Currently, the Galaxy AI is only available on flagship devices, including the Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy S23, and a few more.
It means that soon the mid-range devices will be eligible for the One UI 7. It remains to see whether this change will be worth it and enhance the user experience.
