Telegram brings the ability to send gifts, improved reporting and more with October 2024 update
The latest update to the popular instant messaging platform, Telegram, brings the ability to send gifts to friends alongside a further 4 new features.
Earlier updates significantly introduced star giveaways and much more, while this newest October update to the Telegram application is all about gifting to friends that will then be converted into stars, a verification platform, an improved reporting interface, redesigned video chats on iOS, and RTMP streams on Android.
The new Telegram update now allows users to send gifts to each other for celebrating holidays and giving congratulations with animated artworks and custom messages, which will then be converted into stars and displayed on the user’s profile pages. The stars can further be used to support creators and purchasing services in mini apps.
Additionally, Telegram also launched a platform for businesses that allows them to verify their customers’s phone numbers. This newly launched verification platform further lets users confirm their phone numbers by a verification code that’s received through Telegram with a cost of $0.01 per user.
What’s more is that the messaging platform has further improved the reporting interface by adding new ways to report content on Telegram. With integrating AI capabilities, the reporting menu on Telegram has now been expanded with more detailed options for every category, while servers are dynamically updated that allow users to suggest the most relevant reports in real-time.
Finally, a redesigned video chat capability has been added on iOS with rebuilt ideas to significantly increase performance and to boost battery life to some extent. Alongside, now, Telegram will support live streaming with RTMP by generating a stream key.
