Samsung One UI 7 Icons to Have a Unique Design, Uninfluenced by Chinese Competitors

Samsung is looking forward to releasing the Android 15-based One UI 7. The update is anticipated to bring a brand new app icon design rather than a carbon copy of Chinese inspiration.

Samsung has already declared that it will release the One UI 7 beta by the end of this year for developers, and the stable version is scheduled for next year. At the SDC24, the company offered a sneak peek at the One UI 7, which showcased a few notable twerks coming with the update, such as a new icon design.

For so long, leaks and rumors have suggested that Samsung is designing new app icons to introduce with One UI 7. Now a reliable tipster shared a post on X claiming that the One UI 7 icons are no longer Chinese-inspired. This means that the icon’s design will be brand new rather than a copy of Chinese brands.

He stated that “I can confirm that the current One UI 7 icons are no longer Chinese-inspired.”

He also mentioned that there will be no change in the Gallery app icon, and it will be the same as before with the same colors, including red, orange, and purple backgrounds.

There’s no change in the Notes app icon design; it will be the same as One UI 6.1, but it will have new colors, which will make it more realistic and vibrant. The contacts app icon will appear as a light and dark orange accent combination along with white. It remains as to whether this report will come true.
