Galaxy S27 Series to Feature New Exynos Chipset: Samsung Reportedly in Development

Samsung already has plans for 2025 and 2026 to go with the Snapdragon chipset for its flagship Galaxy S series devices.
Samsung is setting up the debut of its next-generation Galaxy S25 series, which will be exclusively powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.
Recently, it was reported that Samsung will power the entire Galaxy S25 series with Snapdragon 8 Elite and ditch its in-house Exynos. Noticeably. Not only the Galaxy S25 but also the Galaxy S26 will be exclusively powered by the Snapdragon chipset.
Exynos still alive: Samsung plans to use it in Galaxy S27 Series
This suggests the end of the Exynos era, is it? No, it’s not. Samsung is still developing its next-generation Exynos chip, which is codenamed “Ulysses.”
A well-reliable tipster, Ice Universe on Weibo, reported that Samsung is looking forward to using the Snapdragon chipset exclusively for the Galaxy S26 series, which is supposed to debut in 2026. He also reported that the company hasn’t permanently ditched the Exynos chipset.
Reportedly, Samsung will use the rumored ‘Ulysses’ chipset to power the Galaxy S27 lineup, which is supposed to debut in 2027. This chip is expected to be fabricated on Samsung Foundry’s second-generation 2nm process node (SF2P), which will be ready by the end of 2026.
The reason behind this seems that the company is making the base to gain consumer confidence in the Exynos brand with Project Ulysses. However, there’s no official word regarding this report; it will be interesting to see exactly what happens next.
