Samsung is preparing to debut the Galaxy S25 series in early 2025. Thanks to Snapdragon 8 Elite, the Galaxy S25 series is expected to have an Ultra-Wideband (UWB).

Samsung is highly preparing to power its coming flagship series with Snapdragon 8 Elite. On the other hand, Qualcomm announced the fastest chip, the Snapdragon 8 Elite, ever made for Android devices.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite is based on a 3nm process; it delivers massive performance and efficient upgrades. Qualcomm officially announced that the chipset features a built-in Ultra-Wideband (UWB). This means that now the Android smartphone brands don’t have to use a dedicated UWB chip since the Snapdragon 8 Elite already has one.

Qualcomm has also managed to fit Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and UWB on the FastConnect 7900 system since it is completely integrated into the Snapdragon 8 Elite. The coming Galaxy S25 Ultra is highly anticipated to be powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite; this means that Samsung won’t have to use a dedicated UWB chip.

However, the previous Snapdragon processor also supported UWB but needs a dedicated chip and possibly additional licensing fees. Due to this, all smartphone brands were not able to include UWB in their phones since it costs high and also for the space regarding concerns. Finally, Qualcomm brings the solution by fixing the UWB as a part of the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.

Now Samsung could finally bring UWB connectivity to even the base modal of the coming flagship series. The current Galaxy S24 and its predecessor Galaxy S23 lacked the UWB, but the coming Galaxy S25 is expected to have UWB connectivity.

However, Samsung has yet to release any official statement regarding this. It remains to see whether it brings UWB to the Galaxy S25.
