Unlocked Galaxy S21 series getting October 2024 security update in the US

Samsung holds the top rank when it comes to providing software updates to its Galaxy ecosystem. After covering the carrier-locked models in the US market, the company is expanding the October 2024 security update for the carrier-unlocked Galaxy S21 series.

The October 2024 security update is now rolling out for the carrier-unlocked Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra, which have the G991U1UESDGXJ1G996U1UESDGXJ1, and G998U1UESDGXJ1 firmware versions.

Meanwhile, the October update is a simple security patch that significantly brings several important improvements to the device’s overall security, resolves certain known issues, fixes several bugs and other relevant flaws, and also fixes all the security-related vulnerabilities in order to offer a more safe and secure environment to the users, all while protecting the device from external harm.

Additionally, the update further introduces various enhancements to the device’s overall functionality, adds some performance optimizations, brings stability to the system behavior, applies the latest security patches, and delivers much improved features, which in turn will allow users to have a more smooth, stable, and optimized software experience.

Samsung has already started rolling out the new October security patch to the unlocked Galaxy S21 series in the US. Users can now download the update on their devices when it is available.
