Galaxy S25 Could Get Special ‘For Galaxy’ Overclocked Snapdragon 8 Elite?
Samsung is inching closer to debuting its next-generation and probably more powerful flagship lineup, the Galaxy S25. Earlier, rumors suggested that the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset will power the upcoming series. Samsung could power its special “Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy” chip on Galaxy S25 Series.
Right after the partnership with Qualcomm, Samsung’s Galaxy models have become much more powerful handsets; the same seems to happen with the next Galaxy, the S25.
Galaxy S25 Series to feature Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy?
Meanwhile, Samsung adds the “For Galaxy” special variant to the main (standard) chipset, offering more accelerated CPU and GPU performance, along with a more powerful clock speed. The Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy variant offers the same AI-powered features and enhancements as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen X chipset; however, the biggest difference lies in the overall performance.
On the contrary, the next Galaxy S25 handsets appear to be seeking all-round improvements and enhancements in the Galaxy phone’s performance.
Despite the extension of the Samsung-Qualcomm partnership in 2022, the performance of Snapdragon-powered Galaxy devices has significantly improved. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chipset, which debuted in the Samsung Galaxy S23, offered exclusive enhancements in every aspect, including accelerated hardware, faster CPU and GPU performance, and an optimized NPU performance bump.
On the other hand, the next-generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 has been upgraded with leading AI engines, significantly contributing to a 98% faster and 40% improved performance.
While Qualcomm unveiled its newest mobile platform, the Snapdragon 8 Elite, the company also claimed that this latest chipset will be the biggest bump to the mobile chipset track and will be the fastest and most powerful chipset in the world, with advanced AI-powered capabilities, a newer experience, and faster technology.
Therefore, given the recent generation shift and Qualcomm’s focus on on-device AI, Samsung may be considering developing its next-generation flagships, the S25 lineup, which will power the Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy. These smartphones are likely to be more powerful and faster than those in the Galaxy S-lineup.
